Description:

Dr. Robert Shorey is a graduate of USC and a practicing general dentist in Morgan Hill California. Clinical photography can be one of the most valuable communication and analysis tools used in the daily practice of dentistry. If you or your staff do not relish the idea of selling dentistry to your patients but want to improve case acceptance, clinical photography can be the answer. A picture is worth a thousand words and patients understand better when they see images of their teeth versus black and white x-rays. Patients not only understand better but form an emotional attachment to what they see happening in their own mouths. Photography helps clinicians see better and it provides a useful tool when communicating with insurance companies, fellow clinicians, specialists and lab technicians.

Dr. Shorey's course is focused on teaching both doctor and staff how to master camera fundamentals and achieving the proper clinical images with appropriate composition and clarity. This course is a lecture and hands-on program that will demonstrate the use of smartphones (as entry level) and traditional clinical close-up cameras to achieve outstanding image results.

The course involves lecture to understand camera fundamentals and image composition objectives and moves to hands-on training in the afternoon portion of the program. Attending this course will train doctors and their staff how to take clinical images that follow the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry format. A photo syllabus will be utilized that can be taken back to the office for refresher and used for training of future staff members who may join your practice. The program is designed to teach beginning and intermediate level clinical photographers.

Dr. Shorey has lectured and taught hands-on courses at the Texas, California and Minnesota State Meetings and has written articles for DentalTown, California State Dental Association Journal and the American Association of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology.
